Student Research Work (SRW) is an organized activity of learners aimed at conducting scientific research that fosters the development of practical skills, creative thinking, and professional competence.

At the Department of «Engineering Disciplines and Good Practices», SRW is implemented through the student research club «Young Researcher». The club operates according to an annual work plan, the membership is updated regularly, and the scientific direction is determined in accordance with the department’s thematic focus. The main areas include the study of medicinal plant raw materials, the development of technologies for producing pharmaceutical substances and medicinal products, the implementation of engineering solutions in pharmaceutical manufacturing, and the improvement of quality control and product standardization methods.

An annual competition of student scientific works is held in three stages—at the department, university, and national levels. In the 2024–2025 academic year, 64 students participated in the competition, which made it possible to identify the most active and talented participants for the subsequent stages. Participation in SRW contributes to a deeper understanding of specialized disciplines, broadens professional horizons, and develops independent research skills.

In the 2024–2025 academic year, the department actively participated in several significant scientific and educational events:

GxP-Fest 2025 (Moscow, Russia) – the 5th International Student Festival of the Eurasian Academy of Good Practices, with 134 teams from 98 universities of Russia and the EAEU countries. In the nomination «Digital Pharma of the Future», master’s student Sergey Shvets and undergraduate Stanislav Ledenev won 1st place. Scientific supervisor – Associate Professor L.N. Ibragimova.

II International Forum of Young Scientists and Students (Shymkent, Kazakhstan) – participation of students, young researchers, and faculty members from Kazakhstan and neighboring countries; plenary and sectional sessions, poster sessions, master classes; 1st-year master’s student Amirbek Alibek was awarded a First Degree Diploma for winning 1st place at the XI Scientific Conference «Prospects for the Development of Biology, Medicine, and Pharmacy», held within the forum.

XIII International Scientific and Practical Conference «Priorities of Pharmacy and Dentistry: From Theory to Practice» (Almaty, Kazakhstan) – an annual conference organized by the department to develop the research potential of students and young scientists, exchange scientific ideas, and discuss current issues in pharmaceutical production.

ANaMed Forum – New Generation 2025 (Almaty, Kazakhstan) – an International Forum of young scientists and students held on June 4–5, 2025.

7th International Scientific and Practical Conference in Memory of Professor R. Dilbarkhanov – an event within the ANaMed Forum dedicated to the formation and development of the Pharmacy Scientific School and the continuity of generations.

This active work contributes to strengthening the research potential of the department, developing students’ creative and professional competencies, expanding academic cooperation, and integrating into the international scientific community.
