As part of the pre-graduate and industrial practice for 4th-year students of the educational program 6B07201 – «Pharmaceutical Production Technology» as well as 4th-year students and 1st-3rd-year students of the accelerated program В085 – «Pharmacy» a motivational lecture on the topic «Regulation of the Pharmaceutical Market and Introduction to Pharmacovigilance» was held on November 13, 2025, at 14:00.
The invited lecturer was Erken Karimovich Dautbayev, Head of the Department for Clinical Work at Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, a specialist with extensive experience in healthcare, clinical practice, and the regulation of medicinal product circulation.
During the meeting, the lecturer thoroughly covered the key aspects of pharmaceutical market regulation, including modern requirements for the registration, quality control, safety, and efficacy of medicinal products. The stages of organizing a system of Good Pharmaceutical Practices (GxP), state regulatory mechanisms, and the importance of harmonizing national regulatory processes with international standards were also discussed.
Erken Karimovich paid special attention to the topic of pharmacovigilance as a crucial tool for monitoring the safety of medicinal products. Students gained an understanding of the mechanisms for collecting and analyzing reports on adverse reactions, the roles of medical and pharmaceutical professionals in the pharmacovigilance system, and the importance of timely identification of risks to patient health.
The lecturer emphasized the importance of professional responsibility among future pharmacists and specialists in pharmaceutical production.
Participants actively asked questions, discussed current trends in pharmaceutical market regulation, and examined real-life cases arising in the practice of quality control and pharmacovigilance. Such events help foster professional motivation, develop analytical thinking, and deepen understanding of the importance of drug safety in the modern healthcare system.
