Work activity/professional experience. In the direction of the university, she worked for 3 years as an analytical chemist, head of the recipe and production department with manual sales at Central Regional Power Plant No. 36, Ili district (1979-1982). Senior laboratory assistant at ASMI at the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry from 1982 to 1983. At the same time, she was a released Komsomol secretary of the Faculty of Pharmacy at ASMI. Then he worked as a methodologist, senior methodologist, head of the RUMC of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan for higher and secondary medical education. She supervised the Main Directorate of Educational Institutions for educational and methodological work in 5 medical universities and 28 medical schools of the Republic of Kazakhstan. She combined work at the Republican Medical School at the Department of Pharmacology. Based on the competition, she entered full-time graduate school in the specialty 15-00-02 “Pharmaceutical chemistry and pharmacognosy”, successfully defended her PhD thesis on time at the All-Union Scientific Research Institute of Pharmacy (VNIIF) of the USSR Ministry of Health, in Moscow, Russia (1988-1991). She carried out scientific work in Lvov, Moscow, Kharkov, and Tashkent. She combined work at the Municipal Forensic Medical Examination as an analytical chemist (6 years). She worked as a chief specialist, Scientific Secretary of the Pharmacopoeial Committee and expert of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan (1994-2010). She supervised and dealt with issues of registration, re-registration and certification of medicines from domestic, near and far abroad countries in Kazakhstan. At the same time, she taught (passed through a competition) at the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry as an assistant, then associate professor of the Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry, with the basics of Pharmacognosy and Botany (1995-2012). Head of the module “Pharmacist-pharmacognosticist” (2009 – 2017). From 2017 to the present, he is a professor at the Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry, Pharmacognosy and Botany. He is an independent expert on educational programs (has a certificate) at the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and a developer of test tasks at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 1995, she completed an internship in the analysis and quality control of medicines in Germany (1995). Since 2005, according to the credit education system Sayakova G.M. educational and methodological complexes (UMC), test tasks, work programs in the disciplines “Pharmacognosy”, “Fundamentals of Pharmacognosy”, “Botany”, “Medicinal plants of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, “Medicinal plants used in folk medicine”, “Analysis” have been developed and prepared plant raw materials containing essential oils”, “Modern aspects of phytoniring”, “Phytochemical analysis of medicinal plants”, “Standardization of medicinal plants and medicinal plant raw materials”, “Analysis of raw materials of animal origin”, “Aromalogy”, “Standardization of herbal medicines”, “Chemistry and technology of natural medicines”, “Phytotherapy”, “Pharmacopeial requirements for registration, re-registration and certification of medicinal plant raw materials and herbal preparations”. Sayakova G.M. was the holder of a scholarship from the International State Program “Bolashak” of JSC “Center for International Programs” (six-month scientific internship, 2013-2014, has a certificate) at the St. Petersburg Chemical-Pharmaceutical Academy, Russia. Sayakova G.M. – winner of the title “Best University Teacher” in the country of the Republic of Kazakhstan. She completed internships in Belgium (Brussels), Germany (Cologne, Luxembourg, etc.), France (Paris), Vienna, Slovakia (Bratislava), Hungary, Holland, the Netherlands, and has certificates. Participates in grant scientific works of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and intra-university KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov.
She constantly works with graduate students as a supervisor and consultant. She also has 1st and 2nd year master’s students and doctoral students.
Area of scientific interests. Research, creation, development of new medicines from domestic raw materials of synthetic, plant, animal and mineral origin. Search and introduction of herbal medicines into the domestic pharmaceutical market. Pharmaceutical examination and quality control of medicines. Scientific achievements/publications. 350 scientific works, including 7 patents, a monograph, 5 textbooks, a textbook on “Pharmacognosy”, 4 standard educational programs in the pharmaceutical specialty. Participant in the grant work “Scientific and methodological substantiation of the formation and development of translational medicine” (Order No. 1830 of 05/05/2014). Every year, participation in an initiative topic of the department.

Two textbooks have been prepared for publication on the discipline of pharmaceutical chemistry “Pharmaceutical analysis of medicinal substances” and on toxicological chemistry “Analytical toxicology”. In 2023, 3 utility model patents were received.
