On March 17, 2026, the Association of Legal Entities “Association for Support and Development of Pharmaceutical Activities of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” jointly with the School of Pharmacy, held a round table on the topic “Medicinal Supply. Sustainable Processes. Modern Approaches.” The event took place at the National Center for Expertise of Medicines and Medical Devices.
The round table was organized for specialists of primary health care (PHC), hospitals, as well as private medical organizations participating in the compulsory social health insurance (CSHI) system. The event was aimed at fostering professional collaboration, discussing current issues of medicinal supply, and identifying перспективы развития фармацевтической отрасли Республики Казахстан.
This event is a logical continuation of the round table held on December 19, 2025, at the Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University under the supervision of Vice-Rector Sultangazieva S.E..
The round table brought together representatives of government bodies and key sectoral organizations, including:
• Committee for Medical and Pharmaceutical Control of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• Department of Drug Policy of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• SK-Pharmacia;
• National Scientific Center for Healthcare Development named after Salidat Kairbekova;
• Social Health Insurance Fund;
• Republican Center for e-Health;
• academic staff of the Department of Organization, Management and Economics of Pharmacy and Clinical Pharmacy of the School of Pharmacy, Asfendiyarov KazNMU;
• representatives of medical organizations and the pharmaceutical community.
Within the framework of the program, the following key issues were addressed:
• formation and updating of personalized demand for medicines;
• planning of medicinal supply volumes;
• specifics of financing drug therapy in outpatient and inpatient settings;
• functioning of information systems (EFIS, ISLO) and the current status of procurement procedures;
• issues of labeling and traceability of medicines;
• preparation of the application campaign for 2027.
The event was conducted in a hybrid format (offline and via the Zoom platform) with the participation of a wide range of stakeholders, ensuring a constructive professional dialogue and effective exchange of experience. Based on the discussions, priority areas were identified for improving medicinal supply processes and strengthening intersectoral cooperation within the healthcare system of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
