At Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, a curatorial hour on the topic “Population Actions in Case of Earthquake” was conducted by Associate Professor Meruyert Ilyasovna Tleubayeva for 3rd-year students of groups FA23-003 and FA23-004 of the Pharmacy educational program.
The event was aimed at improving students’ preparedness for natural emergencies, fostering a safety culture, and developing practical skills for proper behavior during earthquakes. Key issues of personal and public safety were discussed, including action algorithms before, during, and after an earthquake, as well as the basics of first aid for victims.
Special attention was paid to the role of future pharmaceutical specialists in the civil protection system and in providing medical assistance to the population during emergencies. Students actively participated in discussions and situational case analysis.
The implementation of such preventive educational activities contributes to the development of students’ responsibility for personal and public safety and enhances their practical readiness to act in emergency situations, which corresponds to the objectives of the university’s educational work.
