The scientific activity of the department is aimed at the implementation of research work (R & D) in the framework of fundamental and applied research in the pharmaceutical sciences.

The main direction of the development of the scientific activity of the teaching staff and staff of the department is the development of priority, breakthrough, competitive scientific and technical products in the field of pharmacy.

The research work of the department is carried out in different directions in accordance with the work plan of the department. An important component of research work is the participation in the work of scientific, scientific-methodological, educational-methodical conferences of different status.

In order to increase the amount of funding for scientific research, the faculty members take an active part in competitions for the implementation of projects on topical problems in the development of pharmacy and chemistryOver the past 7 years, more than 20 projects have been submitted for competitions held by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, international, republican funds, organizations for performing fundamental and applied research and programs.

The department’s PPP publishes scientific articles in leading peer-reviewed scientific journals and publications that are part of the Thomson Reuters, Scopus, RINC and other international resources database, the list of the journals of the Committee for Control in Education and Science (CCSSU) of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in domestic and foreign journals. At the same time, the number and quality of such publications is growing every year. From 2015 to the present, more than 300 articles have been published in journals on the CCSON list and 20 in journals with a non-zero impact factor.
