RESEARCH WORK OF STUDENTS

At the Department of Organization, Management and Economics of Pharmacy and Clinical Pharmacy of the School of Pharmacy, Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, the research work of students (RWS) is an integral part of the educational process and a key area for developing professional and research competencies of future pharmacists.

The RWS aims to cultivate analytical thinking, scientific initiative, creativity, and research skills among learners, as well as to foster a sustainable interest in scientific inquiry.

Undergraduate students, master’s students, PhD doctoral students, and faculty members of the department are actively involved in research projects.

The knowledge and skills they acquire are applied in the educational process, in selecting topics for graduation and dissertation research, in the preparation of grant applications, and in participation in scientific competitions and innovation projects.

Research and Educational Mission

The research work of students is aimed at developing the ability of young specialists to conduct independent scientific activity and to apply research methods consciously in their professional practice.

The main goal of the RWS is to unlock creative potential, encourage scientific curiosity, and support the professional growth of young researchers.

Faculty members actively involve students in research projects, scientific competitions, conferences, and start-up initiatives, helping them grow into future researchers and leaders in the pharmaceutical field.

Main Areas of Research

Research activities at the department are carried out in the following areas:

•⠀organization and management of pharmaceutical activities;
•⠀economics and pharmacoeconomics of pharmacy;
•⠀regulatory and legal aspects of the circulation of medicines and medical devices;
•⠀clinical pharmacy and pharmacovigilance;
•⠀pharmaceutical marketing and market research;
•⠀improvement of pharmaceutical production technologies and quality assurance of medicinal products.

Student Scientific Clubs

The department hosts student scientific clubs that bring together active and motivated learners interested in research and innovation.

The most active association is the scientific club “Active Manager”, which aims to engage students in scientific and project-based work in relevant areas of pharmaceutical science.

Purpose of the club: to organize student participation in research activities and to develop their professional and research competencies.

Main objectives:
•⠀
participation of students and young scientists in university grants and research programs;
•⠀organization of departmental and faculty-level scientific olympiads and competitions;
•⠀facilitation of student participation in national and international conferences, symposia, and scientific forums;
•⠀development of skills in writing scientific articles, preparing reports, and giving presentations;
•⠀promotion of professional growth and the formation of a young researchers’ scientific school.

Achievements and Results

Every year, the School of Pharmacy hosts a Student Research Work Competition (RWS), in which representatives of the Department of Organization, Management and Economics of Pharmacy and Clinical Pharmacy actively participate.

The research work of students (RWS) is conducted within the educational programs “Pharmacy” and “Pharmaceutical Production Technology”.

Students of the department consistently demonstrate a high level of scientific training and regularly become winners and prize-winners of university, national, and international scientific competitions.

Over the past years:
•⠀
more than 50 students have participated in RWS activities;
•⠀over 70 scientific papers have been published in student research collections and conference proceedings;
•⠀members of the department’s scientific club have repeatedly received certificates and diplomas for the best scientific reports and research projects.

Development Prospects

The department continues to actively develop the research work of students by introducing modern mentoring models, project-based learning approaches, and interdisciplinary studies.

Special attention is paid to digital tools for scientific communication, academic mobility, and international collaboration.

The development of RWS is one of the department’s strategic priorities, ensuring the formation of a new generation of researchers – competent, responsible, and dedicated to advancing pharmaceutical science and improving public health.
