In the context of sustainable development of the pharmaceutical industry, the training of competitive specialists, and the strengthening of international academic partnership, the III International Online Olympiad among students of the “Pharmacy” educational program in the discipline “Pharmaceutical Management and Economics” was held on May 20, 2025, at the S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University.
11 student teams from leading medical and pharmaceutical universities of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Russia took part in the Olympiad. The event served as a significant platform for enhancing the professional competencies of future specialists, developing managerial thinking, and expanding international cooperation in the educational environment.
The Olympiad program included the following stages:
Team Introduction – a creative video presentation on the topic “The Role of the Pharmacist in Healthcare Transformation: From Traditional Pharmacy to Clinical Practice” (duration – up to 5 minutes), in which participants demonstrated their understanding of the modern role of pharmacists and their contribution to the healthcare system.
Testing – two versions of test assignments, each consisting of 20 questions aimed at assessing theoretical knowledge in the field of pharmacy management and economics.
Case Study Resolution – an interactive stage conducted via Zoom, during which participants analyzed professional cases in real time and proposed optimal management solutions.
Based on the results, the prizes were awarded as follows:
Grand Prix – “Pharm Defenders” team, Samarkand State Medical University (Samarkand, Uzbekistan);
1st Place – “Alfraganus Farm” team, Alfraganus University (Tashkent, Uzbekistan)
“Piatyi Element” team, KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov (Almaty, Kazakhstan)
2nd Place – “VipPharm” – Bashkir State Medical University (Ufa, Bashkortostan)
“Apteka 2.0” – Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute (Tashkent, Uzbekistan)
