On 17 April 2026, the traditional Job Fair was successfully held at the S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, becoming a key event for future doctors, pharmacists and employers. The issue of employment in today’s world remains a pressing concern for young professionals; however, S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University has once again demonstrated that systematic work with students and graduates yields impressive results. The university not only trains qualified personnel but also supports its graduates at the start of their careers, creating real opportunities for direct dialogue with employers.
This year, the university is expected to graduate 3,030 specialists, of whom 2,019 studied on state grants. 566 students are completing their bachelor’s degrees (529 of whom were on grants), 1,598 are completing their internship (857 on grants), 83 are completing their master’s degrees (42 on grants), 760 are completing their residency (485 on grants), and 23 (22 on grants).
The figures were distributed as follows across specialisms: 1,179 specialists graduated in general medicine (including 716 grant recipients), 306 in paediatrics (293 grant recipients), 113 in dentistry (12 grant recipients), 760 completed their residency (485 on grants), 83 completed a Master’s degree (42 on scholarships), 23 completed a PhD (22 on scholarships), 3 in nursing (3 on scholarships), and 85 in pharmacy (20 on scholarships), and pharmaceutical production technology: 524 people, of whom 523 studied on a state grant.
Under amendments to the Republic of Kazakhstan’s Law ‘On Education’, graduates who studied on a state grant are now able to undertake their compulsory work placement in any healthcare organisation, regardless of its form of ownership. The duration of the service period is directly proportional to the number of years studied on a state grant. This broadens the range of options and allows young professionals to take a more flexible approach to finding their first job.
Following the opening of the Job Fair and speeches by deans, representatives of health authorities, sanitary and epidemiological control bodies, and other medical and pharmaceutical organisations and enterprises, the event continued for the university’s schools and departments in the university’s lecture halls.
