On April 23–24, 2026, the School of Pharmacy of the university became a hub for talented students from across Kazakhstan. During these days, the XII Republican Student Subject Olympiad in the educational program 6B07201 – Pharmaceutical Production Technology took place at the university.
Goals and Significance
The main objective of the Olympiad was to identify the most talented students and support their professional development in the pharmaceutical industry.
The event aimed to:
- stimulate academic engagement and interest in engineering disciplines;
- foster students’ creative potential through the presentation of research projects;
- strengthen interuniversity collaboration by providing a platform for knowledge and experience exchange among leading universities.
Competition Program
The Olympiad consisted of two intensive stages:
Round I — assessment of theoretical knowledge through computer-based testing in profile subjects.
Round II — team-based defense of scientific projects, where participants presented their developments in pharmaceutical manufacturing technologies.
The participants were evaluated by an expert panel including leading scholars from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Karaganda University named after Academician E. A. Buketov, M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University, and the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy.

A total of 12 teams from various regions of Kazakhstan competed:
- KazNMU: PhytoMatrix, Pharm4ever;
- KazNU: Substantsiya, Pharmavision;
- KarU: Hakim;
- Auezov SKSU: PharmaTech, Zhas Technolog;
- South Kazakhstan Medical Academy: Nova, ShipaLab;
- Karaganda Medical University: Pulse, Vitapharm;
- Karaganda Industrial University: ChemNova.
The Olympiad was supported by representatives of the pharmaceutical industry — Muhammad Ahmad Suleiman (Sina Pharm International LLP) and Daniyar Zhankulov (ADA Kazakhstan LLP), both alumni of the School of Pharmacy at KazNMU, highlighting continuity and the university’s contribution to the industry.
Results of the Olympiad
Team Rankings:
1st place: PhytoMatrix (KazNMU);
2nd place: Substantsiya (KazNU) and Pharm4ever (KazNMU);
3rd place: ChemNova (KarIU), Pharmavision (KazNU), Zhas Technolog (M. Auezov SKSU), and Pulse (Karaganda Medical University).
Individual Winner:
1st Degree Diploma: Fyodor Pavlovich Pogorov (KazNU).
