Employment history/professional experience. Upon assignment from the university, she worked for 3 years as an analytical chemist and served as Head of the Prescription and Production Department with over-the-counter dispensing at Central District Pharmacy No. 36, GRES, Ili District (1979–1982). From 1982 to 1983, she worked as a senior laboratory assistant at the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at ASMI. At the same time, she served as a full-time Komsomol secretary of the Faculty of Pharmacy at ASMI. She then worked as a methodologist, senior methodologist, and Head of the Republican Educational and Methodological Commission of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan for higher and secondary medical education. At the Main Directorate of Educational Institutions, she supervised educational and methodological activities at 5 medical universities and 28 medical schools of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Concurrently, she worked at the Department of Pharmacology of the Republican Medical School. She was admitted on a competitive basis to full-time postgraduate studies in specialty 15-00-02 «Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmacognosy» and successfully defended her Candidate of Sciences dissertation within the prescribed period at the All-Union Scientific Research Institute of Pharmacy (VNIIF) of the Ministry of Health of the USSR in Moscow, Russia (1988–1991). She carried out research work in Lviv, Moscow, Kharkiv, and Tashkent. Concurrently, she worked at the Municipal Bureau of Forensic Medical Examination as an analytical chemist for 6 years. She worked as Chief Specialist, Academic Secretary of the Pharmacopoeial Committee, and expert of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan (1994–2010). She supervised and dealt with issues related to the registration, re-registration, and certification of medicinal products manufactured domestically and in neighboring and other foreign countries for circulation in Kazakhstan. At the same time, she taught, having passed a competitive selection, at the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry as an assistant and later as an associate professor of the Department of “Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry, with the Fundamentals of Pharmacognosy and Botany» (1995–2012). She was Head of the «Pharmacist-Pharmacognosist» Module (2009–2017). Since 2017, she has been a professor at the Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry, Pharmacognosy and Botany. She is an independent expert on educational programs at the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (holds a certificate) and a developer of test items at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 1995, she completed an internship in Germany in the analysis and quality control of medicinal products. Since 2005, within the credit-based education system, G.M. Sayakova has developed and prepared educational and methodological complexes, test items, and working programs for the disciplines «Pharmacognosy,» «Fundamentals of Pharmacognosy», «Botany», «Medicinal Plants of the Republic of Kazakhstan,» «Medicinal Plants Used in Traditional Medicine», «Analysis of Plant Raw Materials Containing Essential Oils», «Modern Aspects of Phytoneering», «Phytochemical Analysis of Medicinal Plants», «Standardization of Medicinal Plants and Medicinal Plant Raw Materials,» “Analysis of Raw Materials of Animal Origin», «Aromalogy», «Standardization of Phytopreparations», «Chemistry and Technology of Natural Medicinal Products», «Phytotherapy», «Pharmacopoeial Requirements for Registration, Re-registration, and Certification of Medicinal Plant Raw Materials and Phytopreparations»; in 2026, syllabi were developed for doctoral students on the topics «Development and Standardization of Medicinal Products Based on Natural Compounds» and «Instrumental Research Methods in the Analysis of Herbal Preparations». G.M. Sayakova was a scholarship recipient of the International State Program «Bolashak» of JSC «Center for International Programs» (six-month research internship, 2013–2014, certificate obtained) at the St. Petersburg Chemical and Pharmaceutical Academy, Russia. G.M. Sayakova is a winner of the title «Best University Teacher» of the Republic of Kazakhstan. She completed internships in Belgium (Brussels), Germany (Cologne, Luxembourg, etc.), France (Paris), Vienna (Austria), Slovakia (Bratislava), Hungary, Holland, and the Netherlands, and holds relevant certificates. Every year she participates in grant-funded research projects of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and internal university research projects of Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University.

She continuously works with students preparing graduation theses as a supervisor and consultant and supervises first- and second-year master’s students and doctoral students.

Participant in the grant-funded project «Scientific and Methodological Substantiation of the Formation and Development of Translational Medicine» (Order No. 1830 dated 05.05.2014). Every year she participates in work within the department’s initiative research topic.

In 2019, Vladimir Sergeevich An graduated with honors from Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University with a degree in Pharmacy. Upon graduation, he received a diploma with honors and was awarded the nomination “Best Graduate of the Pharmacy Specialty – 2019.” His final GPA was 3.69.

After completing his bachelor’s degree in 2019, he enrolled in the Master’s program in Management at K. Sagadiyev University of International Business (UIB). In 2021, he successfully defended his master’s thesis entitled “Organizational and Managerial Competencies of Future Specialists in the Pharmaceutical Industry.”

Vladimir Sergeevich began his professional career in November 2019 as a lecturer in specialized pharmaceutical disciplines at Professor Ruzuddinov Higher Medical and Dental College, where he worked until January 2022.

In January 2022, he continued his professional career at Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University as an Assistant at the Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry, Pharmacognosy and Botany.

Since September 2023, in addition to his teaching activities, he has performed the duties of Academic Secretary of the Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry, Pharmacognosy and Botany.

Since September 2024, he has been performing the duties of Academic Secretary of the Department of Pharmacognosy with a Course of Botany.

In February 2025, he was transferred to the position of Lecturer at the Department of Pharmacognosy with a Course of Botany, School of Pharmacy, Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University.

Throughout his professional career, Vladimir Sergeevich has actively participated in academic mobility programs. He completed three academic mobility programs in the discipline of Pharmacognosy at the Kazakhstan-Russian Medical University in Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2024, he participated in an international academic mobility program at the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan. In 2026, he once again participated in an academic mobility program at the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute.

Vladimir Sergeevich An is actively engaged in research and educational-methodological activities. During his professional career, he has published numerous scientific articles and conference abstracts in national and international publications indexed or recognized by the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI), the Committee for Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the Scopus database.

He is the author of the educational and methodological complex for the discipline “Organization and Economics of Pharmacy with the Fundamentals of Management and Marketing I” for the Pharmacy specialty in medical colleges, published in Almaty in 2022, comprising 391 pages.

In 2026, as a co-author, he prepared and published the textbook “Pharmacognosy” for students of medical and pharmaceutical colleges of the Republic of Kazakhstan, comprising 411 pages.

Vladimir Sergeevich pays considerable attention to the development of student research and the training of young specialists. Under his supervision, 12 students have become prize-winners of international scientific and practical conferences and academic competitions.

In 2025, his student, Azamat Bakhytzhan, won second place in the Republican Competition of Student Research Works.

During his teaching career, 12 graduates of the educational program “Pharmaceutical Production Technology” successfully defended their graduation theses under his supervision.

At the Department of Pharmacognosy with a Course of Botany, Vladimir Sergeevich An is actively involved in teaching, research, methodological, and organizational activities. He systematically conducts research in the field of pharmacognosy, participates in the preparation of scientific publications, and devotes considerable attention to the professional development and training of young specialists, fostering students’ interest in scientific research.

Students trained under his supervision have repeatedly won prizes in university and national student research competitions, international scientific and practical conferences, and subject-specific academic competitions.

Throughout his professional career, Vladimir Sergeevich An has established himself as a highly qualified, responsible, and proactive specialist with a strong level of theoretical knowledge and practical training. He continuously develops his professional competencies, improves his teaching skills, and actively introduces modern approaches into educational and research activities. Alongside his teaching, research, and methodological work, he actively participates in the organizational and public activities of the Department and the School of Pharmacy of Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University.

Akhatayeva Ulbosyn Abaevna graduated in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In 2019, she graduated from the master’s degree program of the NAO “KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov” in the specialty “Technology of pharmaceutical production” (scientific and practical direction), having defended her dissertation on the topic: “Pharmaceutical development of a phytosubstantiation based on medicinal plant raw materials of Icelandic moss (Ceraria islandica (L.) Asch.)”.

Ulbosyn Abaevna began her career in 2011 as a senior laboratory assistant of the Pharmacist-Pharmacognost module. Since September 2019, he has been teaching at the Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry, Pharmacognosy and Botany of the National Academy of Sciences of KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov, currently works as a lecturer at the Department of Pharmacognosy with a botany course.

The main discipline taught at the department is Chemistry and technology of natural medicinal substances.

Research interests: pharmaceutical development of phytosubstances based on medicinal plant raw materials, quality control and standardization of medicinal plant raw materials in accordance with established standards.

Akzhonas Ermekovna began her career in 2018 as a teacher of chemical and pharmaceutical disciplines, currently works as a lecturer at the Department of Pharmacognosy with a course in botany.

Nazarov S.G., enrolled in 2018 at Karaganda National University named after Academician E.A. Buketov, majoring in “Technology of Pharmaceutical Production.” He successfully completed his studies in 2022, graduating with honors. His diploma thesis was dedicated to the development of the synthesis and study of pyrrole-Knorr intermediates possessing biological activity.

In 2022, he continued his education in the master’s program at the Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov, specializing in “Technology of Pharmaceutical Production” with a scientific-pedagogical focus. In 2024, he defended his master’s thesis on the topic “Development of Technology for Obtaining Liquid Extract of Alhagi pseudalhagi,” in which an innovative extraction method was proposed to obtain a high-quality biologically active preparation.

Nazarov S.G., began his professional career in 2024. Currently, he holds the position of Assistant at the Department of Pharmacognosy, where he teaches the discipline “Chemistry and Technology of Natural Compounds.”

Research interests: Synthesis and biological study of promising phosphorylated derivatives of pyrrole-Knorr, optimization of extraction parameters from plant raw materials to increase the yield and quality of biologically active compounds.

Abdykadyr Nazym Mukhtarovna is a graduate of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy in Shymkent, specializing in “Technology of Pharmaceutical Production” (Bachelor’s degree, 2021). In 2023, she completed her master’s degree (scientific and practical field), defending her thesis on “Pharmacognostic Analysis of Láthyrus praténsis”.

Abdykadyr Nazym Mukhtarovna began her career in 2022 as a lecturer at the Department of Pharmacognosy at the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, and currently works as an assistant at the Department of Pharmacognosy with a course in Botany at the Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University.

The main disciplines taught at the department include the hemistry and Technology of Natural Medicinal Substances and the Fundamentals of Pharmacognosy.

Her research focus is on the Pharmacognostic analysis of Láthyrus praténsis.
