On September 15, 2026, a conference titled “The Legacy of Oteiboidak Tleukabyluly and the Current State of Kazakh Medicine” was held at the Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University.
The conference was opened by the Vice-Rector of KazNMU U.M. Datkhayev, the Dean of the School of Pharmacy Z.B. Sakipova, and the Head of the Department K.S. Zhakipbekov. Reports on the topic of Oteiboidak Tleukabyluly’s legacy and Kazakh medicine were presented: Dauletbek Baitursyn – Word patterns in the language of “Shipagerlik Bayan” and the historical foundations of the Kazakh language; Maksat Abdikadyruly – Oteiboidak as a continuator, not the creator of Kazakh medicine; Toktar Baubekuly – Measurements of mushel (12-year animal cycle), seasons, and time in “Shipagerlik Bayan”; Argynbek Kabylkak – Comparison of the concepts of “қан көзігі мүше бұрғақ” and “қансүзгі мүше бүргектің” in the theory of “Shipagerlik Bayan” with modern medical theory; Orynbasar Nagymetzhan – Methods of diagnosing and treating diseases in “Shipagerlik Bayan”; Bakytbek Mukhamadiyauly – Kazakh healing and nutritional science: the historical and scientific foundations of traditional medicine and its significance in preserving human health; Dalen Kishkentaiuly – Laws and rules in “Shipagerlik Bayan” and the traditional worldview of the Kazakhs; Nurlan Talipuly – The use of sheep tail fat in Kazakh healing; Batima Kanai – Methods of treating skin diseases in “Shipagerlik Bayan”; Kazhat Shamshitkanuly – Differences and treatment methods for “shetpe” and “ilme” diseases in “Shipagerlik Bayan”; Azen Bolatkhan – Sacred wormwood – sacred kike.
