From April 20 to 24, 2026, 4th-year students of the “Pharmacy” educational program are undertaking their industrial practice in Pharmacognosy at the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute (Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan) under the supervision of Lecturer of the Department of Pharmacognosy with a Botany course at the NJSC “Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University,” Vladimir Sergeevich An.
On the first day of practice, the Head of the Department of Pharmacognosy at TashPharmI, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor N.T. Farmanova, introduced students to the history of the department, the practice schedule, conducted a safety briefing, and demonstrated the material and technical facilities of the department, including teaching laboratories, modern equipment, and instruments.
The second day of the industrial practice was held at the Main Botanical Garden of Tashkent. Students became familiar with the cultivation, irrigation, and care conditions of medicinal and ornamental plants. They studied the floristic diversity of the Republic of Uzbekistan and collected medicinal plant materials for further herbarium preparation.
The third and fourth days of practice were conducted at the Tashkent State Agrarian University of the Republic of Uzbekistan. During these sessions, students were introduced to the processes of harvesting, drying, and storing medicinal plant raw materials, methods of primary processing, as well as principles of packaging and labeling in accordance with quality requirements. In addition, methods of protecting stored plant raw materials from pests and conditions for the rational cultivation of medicinal plants were discussed. Students also visited specialized departments engaged in plant processing and plant protection.
