Successful Integration Between Partner Universities KazNMU and Bandung Institute of Technology Within the QS World University Rankings, Academic Mobility Under the Educational Program “7M07201 – Pharmaceutical Production Technology”

From February to June 2026, ten master’s students enrolled in the 7M07201 – Pharmaceutical Production Technology educational program at the School of Pharmacy of Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University (KazNMU) participated in the International Academic Mobility Program.

The training was conducted at Bandung Institute of Technology (Institut Teknologi Bandung, ITB), Republic of Indonesia, one of the leading research universities in Southeast Asia and ranked among the Top 250 universities worldwide in the QS World University Rankings 2026. The implementation of the program reflects the successful development of academic integration and international collaboration between partner universities represented in the QS World University Rankings and was aimed at strengthening the research and professional competencies of master’s students in the field of pharmaceutical technology.

The program was academically supervised and coordinated by Professor Darione Hadi of Bandung Institute of Technology, who oversaw the educational process, provided scientific consultation, and supervised the implementation of the students’ research projects throughout the internship.

During the internship, the master’s students conducted a comprehensive review of the scientific literature on the phytochemical composition of medicinal plants, constructed and optimized three-dimensional (3D) structures of bioactive compounds, prepared molecular targets for molecular docking studies, evaluated ligand–protein binding energies, predicted the ADMET properties (absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, and toxicity) of promising compounds, and performed comparative analyses to assess their potential biological activity.

As outcomes of the internship, the students obtained optimized 3D models of the investigated compounds, analyzed the molecular modeling results, and prepared research reports and presentations of their completed projects.

All participants successfully completed the international academic mobility program and were awarded international certificates. The knowledge, practical skills, and research experience gained during the internship will be applied in their master’s theses, scientific publications, and future joint international research and educational projects.

The participation of the School of Pharmacy master’s students in the International Academic Mobility Program demonstrates the effective integration of the educational and research capacities of Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University and Bandung Institute of Technology. The implementation of this program contributes to the development of professional and research competencies, strengthens students’ scientific research skills, and promotes the integration of the educational process into the international academic and scientific community.
